The Kanawha Kordsmen were on hand this evening to treat Putnam Literacy tutors and clients to an evening of barbershop harmony with a variety of holiday favorites and special arrangements at the Christmas party in the Main Library. The Kordsmen group includes some thirty singers who meet every Monday at the Columbia Gas building on MacCorkle Avenue for two hours of singing and fellowship beginning at 7:15. The Literacy Volunteers were entertained by a select quartet which included Bert Gross, Pat Groghan, Frank Moir and Pete Peters. Director Peggy Melton had arranged for the special entertainment. When Kordsman Moir remarked that it was good to see Melton with her clothes on for a change, he was quick to explain that they had a water aerobics class together. The Kordsmen entertain for special occasions across the Kanawha Valley, including Valentine serenades with complimentary candy and roses. (Contact them at phone number 346-SING.) The Kordsmen will be in concert at the Clay Center next March 31st giving both matinee and evening performances of their program, "Can You Feel the Love."
